A Plate City is a replica of a real-world city populated by psychically-enabled doubles . It is classifiable as a Megastructure and can easily be built once all of excavation machines, prefabs, 3D printers are enabled .

The idea would be that yu would be some sort of invisible observer of circumstances , separated from the goings-on of the clones replicating the lives of the people they·re entangled with . Hence , most of the time , unless the antagonist specifically renders a camouflaged clone of themself as well and uses it to entangle and drag in a person to the base site , the antagonist is rarely one of the people in the scene .

Depending on how cruel yu·re willing to get with a circumstance that has all the consequence of removing the ladder out of a pool in a game of The Sims , it is possible to induce whole cults by running two or more plates providing contrary inputs and tuning them with coersion or violence until the people topside are screaming and scrambling to get at the whatever-it-is .

Unfortunately , there are many sustanance-less personality cults today that could be satisfactorily explained by these circumstances .

"You" is a technological singularity resulting from the combination of a species that naturally partakes in acting , with , a language that has a second-person accusative . If the conditions for all of Time Travel, Clones, and Prefabs occur , it becomes infinitely probable that a Disc City will eventually be built and used to affect its own past .

On such a Disc City , it becomes tactically useful to create a generic clone , either from personal stock or that of an enemy , to name them You , and to show them footage of either yr life or that of another .

Particularly if amnesia, hypnosis, or deep dreaming can be unlocked , as these confuse hostforms as they create situations where the hostform often finds themselves in situations where they were not aware they were doing something until somebody points it out to them .

The mechanism is to show You the footage of the same body doing something , and then to ask You why you·re doing it . Given sufficient trust has been accrued , which is not terribly difficult to do in happy life forms , this opens up all kinds of avenues ranging from having yr own little golden betrayer gleefully ready to destroy the imposter , to , then putting You into Determination Machines and forcing them to reorder reality until the original seed falls out .

Unfortunately , we are witnessing phenomena that would be satisfactorily explained by these circimstances .
